Mount Abu Travel Guide
In Rajasthan there is only one hill station, Mount Abu. It spreads out long on twelve hundred meter high plateau in south Rajasthan, near border to Gujarat. The hill station Mount Abu is approximately 22 km long and 6 km wide. The main town is spread along a road which starts from Abu road and ends at Nakki Lake. Abu road s the nearest railway station which is twenty seven km far from the town. The famous Dilwara Jain Temple is situated in Mount Abu.
The major attraction of Mount Abu is Nakki Lake, which is surrounded by parks, hills and unique rosk formations namely Toad Rock, Num Rock and Nandi Rock. Nakki is situated in the center of Mount Abu town and also the main activity center of town. There are lots of juice stalls, balloon vendors, ice cream parlours, food stalls and shops near Nakki. Raghunath temple which was built in fourteenth century is also situated near Nakki Lake.
A temple of goddess Durga, known as Adhar Devi Temple is just 3 km north of town. The temple is built in natural cleft in the rock. In Mount Abu, Brahm Kumari Spiritual University and museum is also situated. There are many viewpoints in Mount Abu from where you catch setting sun.
